Finding An Attorney That You Can Work With

Choosing an attorney can be somewhat daunting, especially if you have never selected an attorney before.  You can ask family members, friends, coworkers or search online, but before you retain (hire) an attorney, you will want to do the following: 

First, you want to select an attorney whose experience matches the area of law you need.  Just as you would choose a physician based on their specialty, you should also choose a lawyer.  Some examples of specialties would be personal injury, wrongful death, harassment, auto accidents, motorcycle accident, spinal cord injury, dog bites.

Secondly, you will want to retain an attorney that is in good standing and is a member of professional organizations. 

Finally, meet the attorney.  You will want to do business with someone who understands you and has your best interest in mind, not just theirs.
